First, you need to know how the credit cards work and what they are really after.  They want your money and one of the ways they do this is by intimidating you into thinking that you cannot negotiate with them.  Everything is negotiable if you are willing to pick up the telephone and make a phone call.  This is important because if you are willing to negotiate, then you can get yourself the zero interest balance transfer that you are looking for with no fees or interest.
